Studies on Classification and Geographical Distribution of Magnoliaceae Species in Hunan

  • According to researching of founder,investigating of field and referring to specimens of Magnoliaceae in Central South Forestry University,Biological School of Hunan Normal University and Arboretum of Nanyue,we systematically study on classification and geographical distribution of Magnoliaceae in Hunan Province.There is rich resource of Magnoliaceae in Hunan.There are 6 genera and 29 species and 1 subspecies (including 3 cultivated species) of Magnoliaceae from Hunan.They account for 55% of total genera and 28% of all species of China.Their number is third rank in China,arranged behind Yunnan and Guangxi.The Wuling Mountain and Xuefeng Mountain are one of the centers of distribution of Magnoliaceae in Hunan,and Nanling Mountain is transition from Southern to Northern species of Magnoliaceae of China.
