A PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS ON THE FLORA OF TAIYUAN REGIONS IN SHANXI PROVINCE

  • Taiyuan, located at N 37°27′—38°25′, E 111°30′—113°09′, is situated at the middle part of Shanxi Province. There is diversity of the natural ecological environment for plant growing, and it is rich in plant resources. It is now known that there are species of tracheophytes in Taiyuan regions. belonging to genera, families.The analytical result shows that the geographical elements of the flora are very complex. It is in wide connection with flora of the world and other regions of China. According to professor Wu Zhengyi's areal patterns of Chinese spermatophyte genera, there are 14 areal patterns in Taiyuan region. It is interlacing region of the areal patterns of spermotophyte genera. Among the patterns temperate zone ones account for the largest percentage, the nature of which is centrally temperate zone, originated prinicipally from Old North continent. The present main flora elements are the Tertiary palarotropical plants'descendants and survivings, or the more old-age flora elements.
