A NUMERICAL TAXONOMIC STUDY ON VARIATION IN POPULATIONS OF COMMON WILD RICE (ORYZA RUFIPOGON GRIFF.) IN HUNAN AND JIANGXI PROVINCE, CHINA

  • Clustering analyses of 10 populations of Oryza rufipogon Griff. from Hunan and Jiangxi Province, China were undertaken and 25 characters analyzed by means of numerical taxonomic methods, The populations were classified into 5 types, The relationships among the characters were discussed, It is shown that the evironmental factors play an important role in population differentiation, The fact that the two populations from Dongxiang County, Jiangxi are highly isolated from all the others, shows their high specificity and genetic divergence to each other.
