SOME CHARACTERS ON THE BOG PLANTS OF XIAMAN AND AXI PLATEAU BOG NATURE RESERVE OF ZOIGE, CHINA

  • Zoige cold mires are botanically wellknown in China. Bog plants of three small areas, Naliqiao, Naloqiao, and nearby Haqionhu, in this region have been explored by authors. The native flora of the areas comprises 21 families and 44 genera with 61 species. Main genera are ones of Cyperaceae, Graminaceae, Compositae and Ranunculaceae, of which Carex of Cyperaceae predominates. The analysis of geographical elements of bog plants shows that the vegetation in the areas has affinities to temperate vegetation. In the areas there are 9 bog communities, of which Carex muliensis, C. meyeriana, Kobresia tibetica and Scirpus distigmaticus are dominant. Life form of bog plants may be divided into hygrophytes, emersed plant, floating leaf plant and submerged plant. Finally the authors suggested that the following communities: Carex muliensis+Utricularia vulgaris, Carex muliensis+Cremanathalium lineare, Carex lasiocarpa + Meneanthes trifolia should be specially protected.
