Abstract

The present paper reports chromosome numbers and karyotypes of three species of Vicia from Wuhan. The results are as follows: Vicia angustifoia with 2n=2x=12=2sm+2st(SAT)+8st; V. hirsuta with 2n=2x=14=10m+2sm(SAT)+2st; V.tetrasperma with 2n=2x=14=4m+2sm(SAT)+8sm. Some questions about the chromosomal evolution of Vicia are also discussed.
