Abstract: The status of isotype of Livistona speciosa and the isoneotypes of L.saribus,as cited in Chinese taxonomic literature,such as Flora of Hainan,Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae,Flora Fujianica and Flora Yunnanica,was reviewed.L.speciosa possesses shallowly divided and stiff leaflet tips and has obovate,elliptical or ovoid fruits more than 2.5 cm long and 2 cm across;L.saribus possesses deeply divided and pendulous leaflet tips and has globose or subsphaeroidal fruits less than 1.8 cm across.The name L.saribus has been misapplied in Chinese taxonomic literature and should be L.speciosa Kurz.Here an isoneotype is added for L.saribus
