Abstract:
The C-banding patterns in 8 species of genus
Epimedium(Berberidaceae) were studied and compared by a modified BSG technique. Results showed that the C-banding patterns of 8 species studied in this paper were different, respectively with 15 to 22 bands, consisting of centromeric bands, intercalary bands, terminal bands and the middle satellite C-bands.Based on the number and location of the bands, the tested 8 species can be divided into three groups:Group Ⅰ comprises
E.sagittatum,with only 15 C-bands;Group Ⅱ,E.alpinum and E.puberginum native to Germany,with 18 C-bands;Group Ⅲ,E.acuminatum,E.simplicifluom,E.wushanense,E.leptorrhizum and E.davidi,with the C-band number from 20 to 22.
