Taxonomic study of Aulacoseira granulata (Ehrenberg) Simonsen and morphological similar species Aulacoseira herzogii (Lemmerman) Simonsen from the lower reaches of the Pearl River, China

  • Taxonomic studies of two Aulacoseira species from the natural waters of the Pearl River, Aulacoseira granulata (Ehrenberg) Simonsen and A. herzogii (Lemmerman) Simonsen, were carried out by scanning electron microscopy. Taxonomic comparison among morphologically similar species was made based on available literature.
