  • Due to their important ecological function and systematic position in the plant kingdom,bryophytes have been studied widely.Changes in the global climate,however,have seriously threatened bryophyte diversity.We reviewed the latest advanced study on the diversity and distribution of bryophytes,the environmental factors involved,vegetation,climate, and human activities.The methods for analyzing bryophytes distribution and diversity,including quantitative ecological analysis,modeling,and GIS are discussed in this paper.It is important that Chinese researchers advance their methodology and utilize new techniques,so as to develop large spatial scale studies of bryophytes to help increase the foundation of information for biodiversity protection.
