  • Cladistic relationship of the true fruit trees(Citreae, Rutaceae) is studied by character compatibility analysis. The cladogram based on primary clique of 7 morphological characters is presented. According to the cladogram, Citrus L. and Clymenia Swingl. form a monophyletic groups, whose sister group has Fortunella Swingl. Citrus L., Poncirus Raf., and Fortunella Swingl., which has been regarded as originating in China, do not form a monophyletic group. The phylogenetic relationship of the true citrus trees is analysed and discussed.
