  • This paper reports the chromosome numbers of 10 species of Compositae and the karyotypes of 8 of them They are: Callistephus chinensis 2n=18=18m(4SAT); Helichrysum bracteatum 2n=24=18+6sm;Coreopsis tinctoria 2n=24=16+8sm(2SAT); Rudbechia hirta 2n=76;Tithonia diversifolia 2n=34=24m(4SAT)+10sm(2SAT); Dahlia pinnata 2n=64; Cosmos sulphureus 2n=24=2sm+22st; Tagetes erecta 2n=24=6sm+16st(2SAT)+2t; Gaillardia pulchella 2n=34=22m+12sm;Gentaurea cyanus 2n=24=2sm+16st+6t(2SAT).
