AN ANATOMICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY ON THE LEAVES OF WINTER BUDS OF BRASENIA SCHREBERI GMEL.

  • An ultrastructural and physiological study on the leaves of winter buds has been carried out in this paper.The results show that the cell organs of the leaves from the winter buds are integral despite the cold stress,and they can still maintain a perfect physiological function.The structural and physiological characteristics of the leaves of winter buds indicate that:they don't survive the winter passively by decreasing their metabolism rate,as the manner of most of the terrestrial plants,but survive the winter actively with their vigorous metabolism.
