  • Cytological studies on the mode of gamete formation in F1, hybrid between E.intermedium and Yannong 15 were carried out. The results indicated that the first meiotic division of F1, hybrid was normal, anucleate cells and cells with micronuclei whichwere produced by asymmetrical separation of chromosomes were observed at the secondmeiotic division. The chromosome numbers of microspores ranged from 24 to 35,and thechromosome numbers of female garnetes of F1, hybrid ranged from 20 to 35 which werereckoned from BC1, plants. The chromosome averages of root tip cells and PMCs of F2, hybrid were 54. 78 and 56. 41, respectively. Therefore, incomplete reduced garnetes wereproduced in meiosis of F1, PMC,which were mainly taken place at the second meiotic division.
