  • After ascertained the partition principle of vertical vegetation zone, the vegetation of Foping National Reserve (FNR) was divided into three vertical zone:deciduous broad leaved forest, middle mountain birch forest and subalpine coniferous forest. This divide was confirmed by the significant different of species composition of flora, life form spectrum and species diversity of each vertical zone. The comparison of the vegetation vertical spectrum of FNRwith that of the adjacent areas showed that it is very different from the vegetation vertical spectrum of the north slope of Qinling Mountain and that the vegetation landscape of FNRis the typical vegetation landscape of ecotone of warm temperate zone and north subtropic zone.Although the vegetation above the radical belt in FNRpresented some traits of vegetation in warm temperate zone, the property of vegetation in FNRbelongs to north subtropic zone.
