PRIORITY ASSESSMENT FOR THE CONSERVATION OF ENDANGERED MEDICINAL PLANTS IN JIANGXI PROVINCE

Abstract According to the criteria for precious, rare, and endangered medicinal plants in Jiangxi established by the authors, conservation priority of 208 species (including varieties) in Jiangxi province were assessed.The results showed that 24 species of medicinal plants in Jiangxi are endangered;88 species are on the way of being endangered, 88 species are rare and 8 species are in safety.Among them, there are 12 species needing first class conservation;92 species, second class conservation;89 species, third class conservation;and 15 species which need no protection for the time being.
