Studies on the Vertical Distribution of Mosses in Mt. Jiugongshan,Hubei,China

  • Based on collecting and preliminary identifying specimens of bryophytes,this article studied and analyzed the law of vertical distribution of the moss plants in Mt.Jiugongshan,locating in the southeast Hubei Province,China.The result shows that there are 32 families 98 genera and 265 species,in different vertical bands,there are different families and species.The law is that the Geophytia is the major moss-societies in the region below 500 m; and Geophytia,Petrophytia and Epixylophytia are all very rich between 500~850 m;and Petrophytia is the main element between 850~1300 m;and Geophytia also is the main distribution above 1300 m.
