  • Studies on plant peroxidases are reviewed in this paper, including enzyme types and localization, molecular structure, purification and identification and gene expression and regulation related to plant growth, development, wounding and pathogen infection etc. The physiological functions of peroxida ses in plant are also discussed, which cover such as active oxygen metabolism, formation of lignin and suberin, degradation of auxin, oxidation of other compounds and responses for various environmental stresses, especially the pathogen attack.
