  • In the current work studied were chromosome numbers, karyotypes and Giemsa N-banding of various species, varieties and intermediate types of H.spontaneum, H. distichon, H. agriocrithon, H. lagunculiforme and H. vulgare in China.The result shows that karyotype differences among the species of barley are very small, but their banding patterns are definitely different. Evolutionary process of barley is discussed.
