  • The gene Dad-1 is a well-conserved programmed cell death (PCD) suppressor gene in animals and plants. In this study, the single copy rice gene Dad-1 was used as probe to investigate its homology and physical localization in Coix lacryma-jobi genome. The results of Southern blotting suggested that there were sequences homologous to rice Dad-1 gene in C.lacryma-jobi genome.Further, the sequences were mapped on the short arm of chromosome 9 in C.lacryma-jobi by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).The percent distance from the signal site to centromere was 67.44±1.45 .
