  • Dahong Mountain is situated in North Central Hubei, which is a south branch range of Tongbo Mountains. The seed plant species and composition are very rich. According to the preliminary statistics, there are 147 families, 518 genera and 1054 species in the region. Based on their geogrophical distribution types, in accordance with the analyses of all the distribution types, it is reasonable to conclude that:among the native genera in the flora of Mt.Dahong, 284 are temperate, 165 are tropical and 13 are endemic to China. The floristic relationships between this area and other 10 different latitude mountain area are also discussed. By means of the comparison of similarity coefficient of genera, floristic affinities between this flora and other three floras (floras of East China, Central China and North China)are closer, and Mt. Dahong belongs to the flora of East China. Mt.Dahong is also one of the ties among these floras.
