  • The effects of light intensities, watering times per day, CO2 concentrations and culture medium on the growth of Nostoc flagelliforme were studied. N. flagelliforme grew best under middle light intensity (114 μmol·m-2·s-1). The growth of N. flagelliforme was positively rela ted with watering times per day. Higher CO2 concentration(2800 μL/ L) did not significantly accelerate the growth of N. flagelliforme. Under the light intensity of 57 μmol·m-2·s-1, the growth of N. flagelliforme was significantly inhibited by higher CO22- concentrations. N. flagelliforme grew better when cultured with BG11 medium than that with BG110 medium. The lack of K+ and CO32- in BG11 medium did not significantly affect the growth of N. flagelliforme in the experiment.
