A REVISION OF SOME SPECIES OF THE GENUSPHYLLOSTACHYS(BAMBUSO IDEAE) (I)

A comment on some taxa of the genus Phyllostachys Sieb.et Zucc.is given on the basis of consulting a large number of specimens,including many types,and investigating the populations.As a result,Ph.primotina Wen is proposed to be an independent species that is distinctly different from Ph. incarnata Wen;Ph.breviligula W.T.Lin et Z.M.Wu(=Ph.aurea Carr.ex A.et C.Riv.),Ph.nigrivagina Wen(=Ph.bambusoides Sieb.et Zucc.),Ph.sapida Yi(=Ph.flexuosa A.et C.Riv.),Ph. stimulosa H.R.Zhao et A.T.L iu(=Ph.heteroclada Oliv.),Ph.carnea G.H.Ye et Z.P.Wang(=Ph. heteroclada Oliv.),Ph.propinqua Mc Clure f.lanuginosa Wen(=Ph.propinqua Mc Clure),Ph.vivax Mc Clure f.vittata Wen(=Ph.propinqua Mc Clure),and Ph.nuda Mc Clure f.lucida Wen(=Ph.tianmuensis Z.P.Wang et N.X.Ma) are all reduced to synonyms;Ph.heteroclada Oliv.f.solida(S.L.Chen) C.P.Wang et Z.H.Yu is rejected because of its basionym without Latin description;and a new form is described.
