NOTES ON HEMEROCALLIS ESCULENTA IN SHENNONGJIA MOUNT IN NORTHWESTERN HUBEI: MORPHOLOGY AND KARYOTYPE

  • Plants of Hemerocallis esculenta in Shennongjia mount in northwestern Hubeihave long been identified as H. fulva in the literature. In the present work,plant cultureexperiment and karyotype analysis of the plants from Yanziya (alt. 2100 m) located atShennongjia mount are carried out. The results show that the plants observed are not H. fulva, but H. esculenta, which is usually found in northern China. H. esculenta istherefore a new recorded species in Shennongjia mount.
