Abstract
A new type of cytoplasmic male sterility line of Brassica napus(Eru CMS) was taken as a sterile source. The cytoplasmic male sterility genes were successfully transferred to Purple-Caitai by distant hybridization and backcross. These methods accelerated the transformation process, such as:tissue culture, individual selection and allopatric propagation. Results showed that the cytoplasmic male sterility line of Purple-Caitai had many advantages, including non-etiolation of leaves during low environmental temperature. In addition, terility was steady, nectary was normal, and degree of pollen steritity and rate of sterile plants were 100%.
