Canopy Seed Bank of Six Species in the Hilly-gullied Loess Plateau of Northern Shaanxi

This research investigated the canopy seed bank size of six species(Artemisia scoparia,Artemisia gmelinii,Artemisia giraldii,Sophora viciifolia,Periploca sepium,and Rosa xanthina) during different times of the year.The results showed that the six species have canopy seeds more or less,with 57.60%,31.56%,6.30%,2.42%,1.86%,and 1.16% seeds from Rosa xanthina,Sophora viciifolia,Periploca sepium,Artemisia gmelinii,Artemisia scoparia,and Artemisia giraldii storing in canopy until April of the following year,respectively.Artemisia scoparia,Artemisia gmelinii,Artemisia giraldii,and Rosa xanthina can maintain seeds for longer(more than 7 months) than Sophora viciifolia and Periploca sepium(5-7 months).
