A PRELIMINARY TAXONOMIC STUDY ON MELIACEAE IN GUANGDONG

  • This is a preliminary review and study on Meliaceae in Guangdong Province. It comprises 16 genera, 33 species and 7 varieties, including 13 genera, 27 species and 7 varieties which are natural for Guangdong and 3 genera and 6 species are introduced from elsewhere. Among them there are 1 variety (Munronia hainanensis How et T. Chen var. microphyllina X. M. Chen), 3 new combinations (Amoora tsangii (Merr.) X. M. Chen, Reinwardtiodendron dubim (Merr.) X. M. Chen, Toona sinensis (A. Juss.) M. J. Roem. var. schensiana (C. DC.) X. M. Chen) and 3 new recordations (Reinwardtiodendron new to China, Trichilia connaroides (W. et A.) Bentv. var. connaroides new to Guangdong, and Dysoxylum hainanense Merr. var. hainanense new to Guangdong Continent).
