  • In 2006,a species of dinofiagellate was collected from Xiangxi River,Hubei Province.By observation of optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy,it was identified as Perdinium polonicum,a new record in China.Literature indicated that it is a toxic blooming-species in lakes or ponds;and causes mortality of fish.This species is the only record of freshwater toxic dinoflagellate currently;its impaction on environment and ecology need to be further concerned.
