COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE KARYOTYPES OF SEVERAL ALLOPLASMIC WHEAT

  • In the present paper, taking T.aestivum cv. Chinese Spring (CS) as a control, we have analysed and compared the karyotypes of three stable nucleo-cytoplasmic hybrids: (squarrosa)CS, (ovata)CS and(mutca) CS. The results show that their karyotypes are the same as control. Their karyotype formulae are 2n=6x=42=36m+6sm, belonging to "1A" type of karyotype. This result proves that the karyotypes of common wheat are not evidently affected by the alien cytoplasms.
