STUDIES ON THE CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF THE LEAVES OF PIERIS FORMOSA D.DON
Four compounds were isolated from the leaves of Pieris formosa D. Don. On the basis of spectroscopic analysis (IR, UV, MS and NMR) and other methods, they were identified as asebotin (Ⅰ), β-sitosterol (Ⅱ), β-amyrin (Ⅲ), taraxasterol (Ⅳ). The MS, 13C-NMR, DEPT data of compound (Ⅰ) were first given. Until now no reports on the chemical constituents of this species have been found in China.
