  • A taxonomic study on the diatoms from Kinmen Island in Fujian,China is reported in this paper.Totally 126 taxa including 81 species,40 varieties and 5 forms were observed,which belong to 11 families,26 genera.Of these taxa,Gyrosigma wansbeckii(Donkin) Cl.,Navicula elegans W.Smith,Pinnularia fasciata(Lagerst.) Hust.,Cymbella affinis var.afarensis Gasse,Cymbella australica(A.Schmidt) Cleve,Cymbella dorsenotata Östrup,Nitzschia polaris Grun.,Nitzschia subcohaerens var.scotica(Grun.) Van Heurck and Nitzschia umbilicata Hust.are first reported in China.
