  • This paper dealt with the tree-ring growth characteristics of Cupressues funebris of the Lou River , Sangzhi County, Hunan Province. According to the data analysis on the tree-ring of Cupressues funebris, it has been shown that 19 cold periods separated by 19 warm periods occurred in the Lou River during the recent hundred years . The climatic pulsations of cold and warm periods in the Lou River are tabulated in table 2. It has also been shown that 2~3 years of climatic cyclic variations occurred in the Lou River during the recent hundred years. Correlation functions of ring-width index with climatic factors are obtained by analysis, which provides a basic studying the growth of Cupressues funebris and forming the historical changes of the climate and environment in the Lou River region.
