  • Antibacterial experiments of the extracts from Syzygium buxifolium leaves by different extracting solvents showed that the extracts by the higher polarity solutions had the higher antibacterial activities. Among those extracts, water-extract, water-extraction and alcohol precipitation, alcohol extracts had strong antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus subtilis,Escherichia coli,Proteus vulgaris and Sarcina lutea.Water-extract was especially outstanding.
